  1. I wish they'd added the Imperial 45- Rock The Universe (the only one I need) to this collection.
They could have left off The Bell Of Freedom....
Anyway, this was an early supergroup that at various times included Bruce Johnston, Jim Horn, Steve Douglas, Sandy Nelson, Jimmy Troxel, Larry Knechtel, Mike Deasy, and Connie "Guybo" Smith, for a while they were managed by Phil Spector's crazy sister
Shirley (who was obsessed with Steve Douglas, she was later institutionalized). Kip even had a TV show in LA for a while, it amazing no good photos have surfaced.
There's a really great story somewhere in all this, I wish somebody would get to the bottom of it, sadly, Kip Tyler has turned down all requests for interviews.

Which is why no one knows who Skip Tyler WAS.
Was he Skip of Skip & Flip or was he Jimmy Daley & the Ding A Lings?
The answer is the last named-the other Skip was Skip Battin who became a Byrd for 5 minutes

  3. This is an amazing compilation. I too would love to have "Rocket Round the Universe" and its flip side. Maybe someone could post the single? Anyway, thanks much.

    Cheers!

None of the above, Jimmy Daley was the name of the charachter in the movie Rock Baby Rock played by John Saxon which Kip Tyler did the voice over for.
Skip and Flip were Skip Battin (later of the Byrds) and Gary Paxton. Kip Tyler was a fairly big draw in L.A. in the late 50's, hosted a local tv show for a bit and hung in until the early 60's before leaving music for good.

Which is excatly what I said-we had singles issued in the U K by Jimmy Daley & the Ding A Lings and the movie was Rock pretty baby.A soundtrack was belatedly issued in the 80s.
Lousy film anyway-you could tell Alan Freed had nothing to do with it.
Skip & Flip were known about in the U K in the early 60s when 2 singles were issued.
We also have in the U K at least 3 Gary Paxton connected CDs-America has to buy them of us now
