What a dumb sleeve-its nothing to to with the contents but is a Living Era one called LISTEN TO THE BANNED
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBut here's the definition of a banned record:
"A song which,if you listen very closely, may suggest another meaning depending on how your mind works. Thus ENDLESS SLEEP is nothing to do with death as the girl is saved.
Others are so obscure in meaning i e Tutti Frutti that any hint of impropriety was lost in translation-it may have started off as a rude rhyme under another name but was rendered harmless even before Pat Boone changed a couple of lines.
Track 1 by the way should read THE Bees-a cover version of the Dave Bartholomew original
Actually track 1 should be titled "Toy Bell" not My Ding A Ling & it was recorded in 1954, the 1952 Dave Barthomew original was titled "Little Girl Sing Ding-a-Ling"
