Billy Fury was this country's greatest rock'n'roll singer and for my money the most important exponent of high school pop.Something Decca understood better than it had done the Beatles.
Fury's last singles were high school-revivals of Bobby Vee's Devil or Angel and the Blackwells' Love or Money.
Which shows that Fury in spite of being coerced by Decca to go the high school route recognised a form of music in the end which is as important as any other genre like Doo Wop or Soul
