Westport Records

Westport Records was a record label founded 1955 in Kansas City by the Ruf Brothers. It lasted until 1962, just releasing about 22 singles

  5. Hey, the first building was the Jackson County courthouse -- photo apparently taken from the steps of the police station -- seems appropriate for rough-and-rowdy rockabillies!

    Current photo is the back of a meat-packing plant . . . maybe that's appropriate, too!

    Didn't know the history of Jimmy Dallas as a singer -- just knew that he had a great live-music club here in the 1980s (Club Dallas).
