Track 7 and 2.25 in a burst of orchestral music enters which is not part of the music.
Other tracks have extraneous noises on them like a couple of what would be called groove jumps on vinyl.
However no matter as this is just about the poorest girl groupn comp from Ace.The offending track 7 is a pretty uninspired Motown rip off which was already beginning to get tiresome by 1966.The Toys song is not the same as the far superior one of the same name by Betty Lavette and Candy & the Kisses is not the same song as the Nino & April one (which is more to do with the ignorance of the writers)
It says Marie Knight but is identified as MARY KNIGHT on the download yet doesn't sound like marie Knight.
I know the sleeve note will tell you but I never bought this as I hate the sleeve-why do Ace assume we want to see women dressed like men-they just never seem to stop

  2. Can't wait for volume 1!

Super blog (!!!). You've reminded me what I love most about music: turning others on to new sounds.

Keep up the terrific work. You have many fans that appreciate your effort (myself included, naturally). You keep us intrigued, engaged and interested. As a result, you keep ebay sellers and other dealers in business. Thanks for you effort and keeping the fire burning!

Would also love to hear some Tammy Wayne, Jessie Mae, Gene Vincent or Pearlean Woods (?) if you have 'em. An odd request, but haven't heard these obscure ones some time.
